EDF prioritized public health initiatives, including tobacco control, "Smoke-Free Khulna Division" project, supported by The Bangladesh Anti-Tobacco Alliance BATA and DAS Tobacco Network, aimed to enforce tobacco control laws and create smoke-free environments.
Targeting the Dalit community, EDF initiated a project to combat early marriage, polygamy, and family repression. With support from the ARS Bangladesh, EDF focused on empowering Dalit women, enhancing reproductive health awareness, and advocating for their rights in Jhenaidah. Training sessions and awareness programs were conducted to promote social justice and gender equality.
Recognizing the crucial role of farmers in the economy, EDF implemented programs to ensure their rights and access to governmental support. Through projects like "Access Creation and Association Building for Agricultural Development," farmers were empowered to demand fair prices and access organic agricultural technologies. EDF's efforts aimed to enhance the economic security of farmers in Jhenaidah this program is supporting by Sonar Bangla Foundation.
EDF, in partnership with CLPA, is leading an initiative in Jhenaidah to combat non-communicable diseases by promoting healthy diets, preventive measures, and policy advocacy. The program focuses on education, community engagement, and improved access to nutritious food.
In collaboration with CDD and PADMA with Network, EARTHprovided essential assistive devices to persons with disabilities (PWDs) and children with disabilities (CWDs). This initiative aimed to alleviate their discomfort and enhance their quality of life. Through the PADMA Network, EARTHdistributed specialized chairs and standing tables, offering unique support to PWDs in Jhenaidah Sadar Upazila.
EDF remained committed to promoting the rights of rural women workers, particularly in the informal labor sector. With support from the European Union, EDF launched a project aimed at ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and legal advocacy for these women. Advocacy workshops and lobby events were organized to raise awareness and empower women in JhenEDFh, Kushtia, and Jessore districts.
Addressing the vulnerability of Bangladesh to natural disasters, EDF actively engaged in disaster management and environmental conservation. The Climate Tracking Cell monitored disaster risks and provided relief efforts during emergencies. Initiatives such as low carbon emission projects and water resource management aimed to mitigate environmental degradation and promote sustainable practices.
Through its cultural wing, Mohona, EDF continued to disseminate its message and achievements to the wider community. Mohona served as a platform for advocating EDF's goals and fostering cultural heritage preservation.
