Recent Partnerships

Our recent collaborative initiatives with national and international partners dedicated to sustainable development, environmental protection, and public health.

Global Greengrants Fund UK/Europe

Waste & Plastic Pollution Reduction Initiatives

Earth Development Foundation (EDF) is a grant recipient from the Global Greengrants Fund UK/Europe to support its work on waste and plastic pollution. Through this support, EDF, together with Grambangla Unnayan Committee, and the Bangladesh Waste Pickers Union, has organised grassroots, multi-stakeholder consultations with waste pickers in Dhaka to document the impact of proposed waste-to-energy incineration projects on public health, the environment, and the livelihoods of the informal waste-picking community.

Pure Earth Bangladesh

Youth-Driven Movement Against Lead Pollution

EDF is also a lead partner of Pure Earth Bangladesh's youth-driven movement against lead pollution. In July 2026, EDF co-organised World Environment Day 2026 youth awareness rallies in Khulna and Rajshahi, bringing together students, educators, government officials, and civil society to demand policy action on lead exposure. EDF also implemented nationwide community consultation workshops, developed with Pure Earth Bangladesh, that will mobilise university students to design low-cost lead detection, community mapping, and prevention solutions as part of International Lead Poisoning Prevention Week (ILPPW) 2026.

Vital Strategies

Tobacco Control & Litigation Advocacy

EDF is actively engaged in tobacco control advocacy. EDF played a key role in the tobacco control litigation procedure against the set up of a nicotine pouch factory in Bangladesh. EDF has recently partnered with Vital Strategies to explore the tobacco litigation practices in Bangladesh.

JFGE & Open Seasm

Empowering Women and Youth for Climate Resilience in Jhenaidah

Currently, Earth Development Foundation (EDF) is implementing a project titled 'Empowering Women and Youth for Climate Resilience in Drought-Prone Jhenaidah', with the support of Japan Fund for Global Environment (JFGE) and Open Seasm. The goal of this project is to empower women and youth in the drought areas of Jhenaidah district, Bangladesh, to address climate-induced vulnerabilities, particularly focusing on man-made climate vulnerability factors such as waterlogging, salinity intrusion, and altered agricultural practices. The project aims to build resilient communities capable of sustaining livelihoods in the face of environmental challenges.
